Dengue is a major public health problem in the Philippines and is endemic across all regions of this tropical country . Dengue outbreak in the Philippines mostly occurs during the wet and rainy season from May to November. Additionally, studies show that Dengue in the Philippines is almost 10 times higher than estimated for rabies, about twice the burden of intestinal fluke infections, and about 10% of the burden of tuberculosis.
Reports from the Department of Health says dengue cases reached 64,797 nationwide from January to June 25, 2022 which is 90% higher than cases recorded in the same period last year. Most of the dengue cases were reported in Central Luzon, Central Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula.
