After undergoing mammogram, actress Chynna Ortaleza was quick to advise everyone to get medical check-up, stressing that early detection or prevention is always better than cure.
Ortaleza believes in the importance of mammogram to women as can be seen on her Instagram page yesterday, Aug. 8, where she shared two photos of her while in a clinic.
“I made a very important appointment today & I am so happy I did! I was also able to convince my Mom to get her very first mammogram,” she said.
“I felt safe, welcome & the nurses and Doc Norman are real light workers,” she added.
And the good news, according to her, is that both she and her mom were cleared of possible breast cancer.
“Good news! Both Mama and I are in the clear. I was also taught how to properly examine my breasts and was reminded to stay away from food that won’t help me & to manage my stress,” she said.
For Chynna, it is always important to “prioritize yourself & don’t wait until you are already feeling ill before you evaluate your body. Prevention & Early Detection is key.”
As per experience, Ortaleza said that the “mammogram did not hurt at all contrary to what I’ve heard.”
“The machine is top notch! More of a firm steady hug than a painful tear jerking squeeze,” she said, advising women of 35 and have a history of cancer in the family to schedule an appointment and empower themselves. /ra
