And just like that, Aidan is back!
In a post made earlier today by the show’s official Instagram account, Sarah Jessica Parker and John Corbett were snapped walking hand-in-hand through New York City as they filmed the show’s second season.
This announcement comes four months ahead of the show’s sophomore season premiere, finally confirming long-running speculation that Aidan Shaw, Carrie Bradshaw’s former fiancé and hunky woodworker flame, would be reprising his role for the spin-off.
“Shh. Don’t tell anyone. 📸 @craigblankenhorn” the post was captioned. Sarah Jessica Parker also commented on the post, saying “Shhhh. X, SJ”.

The character of Aidan Shaw first appeared in Sex & The City’s third season, which eventually developed into a major love interest for the character of Carrie. Throughout the following seasons, he is presented as the opposite of Mr. Big. However, following numerous entanglements, the pair eventually parted ways.
In the second Sex & The City film, Aidan makes a brief cameo, confirming that he moved on to get married and have a family of his own.
