Booksmart marks Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut. And keep in mind, this isn’t an average high school party film, destined to bomb at Rotten Tomatoes. She decides to turn the genre over its head by making it female-driven while keeping the fun aspect of it.

Booksmart features a star-studded cast. It stars Beanie Feldstein (Lady Bird) as Molly, Kaitlyn Dever (Beautiful Boy) as Amy, Billie Lourd as Gigi (FX’s Scream Queens), and Noah Galvin as George (Dear Evan Hansen). It also stars Lisa Kudrow (Friends) and Jason Sudeikis (Saturday Night Live).

No news yet if it’s going to screen in the Philippines. But it already premiered last month in SXSW and was received well. Booksmart currently holds a 100 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so it’s safe to say the film made a clear statement on high school party comedies.

Do you live for coming-of-age movies like us? Well then, this might be your next favorite flick.
