Looking to book your ticket? Here are a few steps to follow:
Step One: Secure Your Visa
If you are Filipino, you do need a visa to visit Japan. The Embassy of Japan in The Philippines website has a lot of resources to help you get the visa that best suits your needs.
Step Two: Book your Flights and Accommodation!
There are many options for airlines for you to choose from if you are looking to visit Japan. From Manila there is Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways which fly from Manila to Tokyo Narita and Haneda. Other choices include Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific which fly from Manila to Narita, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. AirAsia flies from Manila to Tokyo Narita, and Osaka, while Jetstar flies from Manila to Tokyo Narita and Nagoya.
If you are looking to fly out of Clark, Cebu Pacific flies to Tokyo Narita. And from Cebu, there are flights available to Tokyo on Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines.
Step Three: Purchase Traveller’s Insurance
While you are visiting Japan, it is recommended to purchase travel insurance that must be arranged before your trip. It’s optional but highly encouraged. This measure is to make sure you are protected while you explore Japan!
Step Four: Accomplish your Customs and Immigration Forms Online
There are still forms you have to complete for your entry into Japan. These are the ones we all used to fill out on the plane, now the info is transferred via QR codes. They make for a smoother entry procedure and you can do all your forms on your phone. You just need to go to Visit Japan Web.
Note: You should accomplish these forms at least a day before your flight.
There are instructions on the welcome page on how to get started. Breeze through your entry stress-free, just show your phone to the officials.
Step Five: Arrive!
There are many places to experience while you are in Japan, not just the popular tourist spots! Why not visit some of the destinations off the beaten path?
Tokyo, Kyoto, and other tourist centres are excellent places to see, but there is so much more to Japan! Explore the unfamiliar side of the country. Visit the snow monkeys of Nagano. Food trip in Fukuoka. Ski in Yamagata – there is so much to do!
