Lexus’ Chief Engineer Takashi Watanabe highlighted how they modeled the RZ 450e to provide a good experience for its drivers. As for its performance, it didn’t fail to impress.
“The RZ has been developed with the aim of creating a uniquely Lexus BEV that feels secure to ride in, is pleasing to the touch, and is exhilarating to drive.”
The vehicle is equipped with a 71.4 kWh lithium-ion battery which translates to retaining up to 90% of the capacity even after 10 years of use.
“Our vision is to use electrification technology as a means to enhance fundamental vehicle performance,” he said.
Complemented by having saving energy consumption capabilities, it currently achieves between 16.8 kWh and 18.7 kWh for every 100 km in the combined WLTP cycle. This shows that Lexus is committed to being energy efficient and is forward-looking in all the models it has released so far.
The model has gone through extensive track testing and the Shimoyama Centre in Japan, with refinements being made before its official launch.
The center is likewise set to be Lexus’ new global headquarters.
Decked in luxury for everyday use
According to the company, the RZ 450e carries the Lexus’ Tazuna concept to provide a fully focused driver’s cockpit.
In-car experience is also top notch with new tech installed. It has a heat insulating panoramic roof for sunny days, and radiant heaters for the cooler seasons.
For those who enjoy having the best music, the RZ 450e is decked with the new Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system.
This is amplified by the Pure Stage sound reproduction feature that promises an immersive audio experience
As for those into interactive tech, the “Hey Lexus” on-board assistance is installed to help you with anything you may need—hands-free.
Its full suite of safety features is also not to be ignored. It has driver assistance and the Lexus exclusive: Safe Exit Assist which prevents doors from opening when it detects vehicles and cyclists near the rear or perimeter of the RZ 450e.
Riding in style with master craftsmanship
Exterior finishes come in a variety of choices, any one of these making sure you’ll be a head-turner on the road. It includes the new Aether Metallic and the Sonic Copper, alongside classic finishes such as Sonic Chrome, Sonic Quartz, Sonic Iridium, and Graphite Black.
For those who prefer a more vibrant look, bi-tone design options are also available. The black finish extends from the front of the car up to the roof and the pillars of the vehicle.
Interior colors and trims feature exciting combinations. There are three available interior colors to choose from: Orage, Hazel, and Grayscale, which all come in Ultrasuede material. Its interior door shoulders and armrests come in Solis While for that clean look that will elevate every ride. The wheels are prepared for long and short rides from the get-go. All units come with 20-inch wheels with a dark premium metallic finish.
