Café Adriatico in Malate celebrated its reopening after sustaining damage from a fire last December.
The 33-year-old café, a landmark for a generation of urbanites, dressed itself up in yellow ochre and pulled all stops with a sumptuous spread of Adriatico favorites and well-loved dishes.
Café Adriatico denizens who have been loyal diners the past decades felt like they were back home. Lorna Ambas, the president and CEO of the LJC chain, announced that the café would be open 365 days of the year to serve the loyal patrons and the new generation of diners.
The cool evening provided the perfect outdoor café setting that only bohemian Malate could have provided. Of course, the music was equally true to the Café Adriatico signature classical sounds, this time performed by a classical guitar ensemble led by Maan Hontiveros and Mandy Marquez and friends.
