Inspired by her beginnings as a young designer, Ocampo-Rodriguez’ latest collection is a love letter to Italy
The other night, fashion designer Rosanna Ocampo-Rodriguez celebrated 15 years in the industry in classic RO fashion — an excellent party, and a brand new collection.
Looking to her beginnings as a budding designer who moved to Italy at 23, Ocampo-Rodriguez’ newest collection not only commemorates her tenure in the fashion industry, but also the la dolce vita life she fell in love with as a young and hungry creative.
“Amore Mio” which translates to “My love”, is the latest addition to Ocampo-Rodriguez’s line-up of creations. It marries the rich grandeur of Sicilian ruins and classical columns with a playful and contemporary vibe, showcasing the evolution of Rosanna’s design aesthetic over the years.
“We like more is more. That’s always been my brand.” notes Ocampo-Rodgriuez.
Just in time for the holidays, the collection boasts of chic and modern floral brocade, mini and midi dresses flaunting layers of fringe, vintage lace, gold, and metallic knits. Padded mesh, inspired by the latest Milan runways also makes an appearance in crepe coordinates covered in crystals and paillettes.
Even after 15 years, its plain to see that RO’s magic touch remains, continuously shaping the local fashion scene all while enjoying a good ol’ party no less.
