We are all beings of divine love

“We don’t just feel love, we ARE love.”Stephanie Zubiri

Our hearts are infinitely expansive and capable of holding space for everyone and everything, especially ourselves. Though to properly do so, we need to nourish our body, mind and spirit to fully share this divine love that we have within.

At the last Soulful Feasts Workshop of Stephanie Zubiri at Vestido Manila, we were guided through a special heart opening meditation and chakra clearing that totally rejuvenated my present aura that had been misaligned due to unwanted external forces.

Participating in the mindful movement with song and dance, we were able to amplify our inner power and light. As we danced wildly and uninhibited to “Love is in the Air” and “Flowers,” Stephanie reminded us to bask in the glow and know that love is not something meant to be given, but instead, is meant to be embodied. We are capable of abundant, unendingcand unconditional love because we ARE beings of divine love.

Looking for some clearing of my senses, I attended Stephanie’s session in search of divine love. Rediscovering myself amidst the noise has been my focus lately. I am glad that during the meditation, I felt a bright light from within and had so many clarifying ideas to help me move in the right direction.

“Every time a podcast or Instagram post tells me to go for a walk in the woods, it makes me want to scream,” says Stephanie with a laugh. “I look out the window and all I see is a heaving urban jungle. Is peace of mind only meant for people who live in nature?”

Soulful Feasts was born out of a desire to bring accessible and relatable wellness practices to a broader audience. Much of the information out there on self-care and healing is designed from a western perspective, for people living in the northern hemisphere. Although the wisdom is ancient and the messages are universal, the issues and contexts are completely different in Asian metropolises.

Top podcast

What started as the title of a book is now one of the top podcasts in the Philippines. Soulful Feasts is dedicated to holistic nourishment, encompassing well-being, relationships and personal growth. In this series, Stephanie holds meaningful conversations around health, mind and movement and family and connections, together with experts and resource persons well-versed in their respective fields.

Stephanie also integrates her skills as a certified Reiki practitioner and meditation coach into wellness workshops, motivational speaking engagements and one-on-one sessions with the hopes of encouraging people to cultivate a deeper relationship between body, mind and spirit.

With my heart full of love and joy coming from that session, I felt even more love at the bridal shower that Red Charity Gala partner Kaye Tiñga and I hosted for bride Ina Ongsiako. She is soon to wed her Ateneo Law School classmate, Pelos Remollo. They are tying the knot next week in Dumaguete, where the groom’s family is from.

From study buddies to soulmates, Ina and Pelos sparked romance in the halls of Ateneo Law School. Pelos was instantly drawn to Ina’s charm and radiant presence. He jokes that he owes being able to graduate to Ina, who was his blockmate. Ina couldn’t resist Pelos’ humor and infectious laughter. Now both lawyers, they are just excited to start their lives together, and hopefully have a Dragon baby this year!

Just before their “Modern Filipino Fiesta” wedding, Kaye and I hosted Ina’s bridal shower together with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. The two-hour workshop showcased a simple yet elevated makeup look perfect for special occasions.

Bobbi Brown pro artist Nitz Marquez and education manager Jaycee Matias led the makeup demo. Guests discovered and experienced the best-selling essentials such as the Vitamin Enriched Face Base and long-wear cream shadow sticks. True to the brand’s core, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics aims to empower each one to be their own makeup artist. Each guest was emblematic of the modern woman—confident, beautiful and defining success on their own terms.

Enjoying special Bobbi Brown giveaways, each of the ladies continued to share their best wishes with the bride-to-be and got to know the groom a little bit, too. As the event ended on a high note of love and excitement, I am looking forward to this fun wedding to get some fresh vibes of true love and endless drinking!

All about art

This weekend is all about art. Art Fair Philippines is now open to the public. For this year’s edition of the fair, Silverlens is thrilled to feature nearly 200 works by 62 artists working across a wide range of mediums. Curated by gallery directors Isa Lorenzo and Rachel Rillo, Silverlens’ presentation consists of five sections: Ends with Nature, Cuts and Tears, Surface, Stories and History and Identity. In celebration of Silverlens’ 20th anniversary, a limited number of Silverlens’ merch and freebies will be given away to fairgoers daily at Art Fair Philippines. I was able to chat with Isa at the opening of Menarco Vertical Museum.

The Menarco Vertical Museum recently hosted an intimate gathering of close friends and family, aptly called “The Unveiling.” Menarco founder and CEO Carmen Jimenez-Ong, together with Silverlens’ Isa, took guests on a tour of the museum’s latest acquisitions.

Taking their place among the growing collection of Filipino contemporary art were Nona Garcia’s “Overland,” Geraldine Javier’s “Leonard Co,” Poklong Anading’s “Falling & Growing” and Leslie de Chaves’ “Studies of a Portrait of the Artist as Filipino,” which Carmen so fittingly describes as “both exquisitely beautiful and excruciatingly painful.”

Before the opening, I had lunch with birthday girl and fashion designer Lulu Tan-Gan. We are so happy to announce as well that Lulu is our featured designer for Red Charity Gala this year. We are looking forward once again to bring fashion and charity to great heights! INQ
