Met Gala 2024 brought some of the most memorable floral and fairytale looks from the princes of the night

With the Met Gala 2024’s dress code encouraging guests to lean into their floral fantasies, many expected the men to show up in traditional tuxedos. That however wasn’t the case as the handsome attendees didn’t shy away from a sprinkling of mystical arrangements.

Seemingly the only one devoted to the theme of gardening, Faist showed up in a signature black Loewe tuxedo and cream pants with a tasty bedazzled turnip brooch.

Usher

Usher slithers in an all-black caped and sequined suit, accented with a dripping-red rose in hand. His dotted physique glimmers with his studded dark brooch and leather fedora. This mysteriously romantic look by Seán McGirr got us fallin’ in love with the R&B legend once again.

The “Saltburn” star’s Burberry outfit includes a silky poplin shirt covered by a velvet olive jacket and tailor-made trousers. Pulling out the fanciest of stops, his outfit can’t be complete without a pocket watch and top hat, resembling the image of a luxurious keeper of time.

Beloved internet personality Wisdom Kaye finally set the Met Gala carpet ablaze with his debut ensemble of burnt frills and tattered edges by designer Robert Wun. A flower blooming in the middle of the disintegrating outfit symbolizes a fading past and a foreboding future. The budding fashion icon is certainly on his way to becoming a Met veteran.

Jonathan Bailey

The “Bridgerton” actor stays true to making simple statements look loud. Bailey offers his blossoming heart through a double-breasted Loewe white suit jacket, partnered with a smaller twin ornament at his hip.

Olivier Rousteing

Inspired by the pharaohs of Ancient Egypt, the renowned Balmain designer Rousteing stopped the hourglass of time with a shirt made entirely out of real sand. The bewildering imprint sculpted on the sand is an exact stamp of his own face. Matching with singer-songwriter Tyla, the duo strut the Met Gala carpet in hopes that the material will stay intact.

Ben Simmons

Don’t be fooled by the rose-colored glasses of NBA star Ben Simmons. He proves to be the all-knowing oracle of time by keeping a ticking suitcase under his Thom Browne plaid-padded jacket.

Alton Mason

Showing up in full Thom Browne, Alton Mason owns the title of the funkiest footwear at the Met. The layered offset patterns tied with a sleek black cummerbund makes for a unique silhouette, subtly brushed with a net headgear and an undone tie. Mason’s comfort in the unorthodox textures is what really sells the look.

Lil Nas X

The 25-year-old rapper is definitely no stranger to intricate displays at the Met Gala, and it seems he’s not stopping anytime soon. He shimmers in a silvery statement suit embellished with 50,000 Swarovski crystals that drape over the edges, complementing his bright blond hair, pearly claws, and off-white overcoat by designer Raul Lopez.

Bad Bunny

The King of Latin Trap stuns as he wears a reversed custom Maison Margiela attire. From the top of his puffed chaperon hat down to the tip of his split-toe dress shoes, Bad Bunny makes a deconstructed thread of fabric look seamless. Additionally, the furry centaur-like hooves gives us the right dose of fauna we needed in this garden assembly of characters.
