If you need more proof that people are still reading—physical books at that!—Ateneo de Manila University Press opens its bookshop this week with a grand opening sale until Mar. 1.

The multi-awarded university press, which recently bagged its sixth Publisher of the Year Award at the recently concluded National Book Awards, opened its new physical space last month. To celebrate, the Ateneo Press has bookish deals on all their available books.

Seven of its publications have been awarded at the National Book Awards are at 30 percent off. These include Glenn Diaz’s novel “Yñiga” and Vida Cruz-Borja’s first short story collection “Song of the Mango and Other New Myths.”

Readers can also enjoy a 20 percent discount on all other titles and bring home older releases for as low as P100.

The Ateneo Press is also releasing exclusive merch: its first tote bag. Single-receipt purchases of P3,000 and above on the first day of the sale will come with a free tote bag while supplies last. The tote is available exclusively at the bookshop located on the first floor of Bellarmine Hall at the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City.

It’s open Mondays to Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bookshop closes for an hour at lunch. 

Established in 1972, the Ateneo Press started publishing books on humanities, social sciences, and Philippine literary works. It has since expanded to include titles in archaeology, biography, cultural heritage, diaspora studies, governance and political change, law and society, leadership, Mindanao studies, science and society, and theology and religious studies.
