Revealed at Coffee Fest Madrid 2025, the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops list recognizes the best specialty shops in Asia, Oceania, Africa, Europe, and the Americas
Four coffee shops represented Philippine coffee on the world stage at the inaugural World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops list, revealed at Coffee Fest Madrid 2025.
Yardstick Coffee claimed the 18th spot, the highest for the Philippine representatives. This is followed by El Union Coffee at 61, Single Origin at 83, and Crema & Cream Coffee Roasters at 86. El Union Coffee is the only non-Manila-based coffee shop on the list.
A mix of expert evaluations and public voting determined the top 100 coffee shops. A panel of specialty coffee experts and industry professionals evaluated the contending coffee shops based on the Specialty Coffee Association criteria, which includes quality of coffee, barista expertise, customer service, innovation, ambience and atmosphere, sustainability practices, food and pastry quality, and consistency.
Meanwhile, the public votes helped determine the community impact of the coffee shops on the list. The evaluation by experts and public votes was calculated with a weighted system of 70-30 respectively.
