Bawled your eyes out while watching the 2018 film “Hintayan ng Langit”? Bring the box of tissues back, because the Virgin Labfest play—from which the film was adapted—is having an online run.
Penned by Juan Miguel Severo, “Hintayan ng Langit” tells the story of two ex-lovers—Lisang and Manolo—who meet in the purgatory as temporary roommates. As they’re already old and gray, we witness them unpack the past decades’ regrets and untold sentiments while deciphering what love truly means.
Directed by Raffy Tejada, this one-act play will be up for streaming on Cultural Center of the Philippines’ (CCP) YouTube channel starting Apr. 28 at 3 p.m. This is just one of the many Virgin Labfest classics being uploaded on the interwebs. Everybody say thank you, CCP.
If you missed the chance to see the play when it was first staged in 2015, this is the rerun you deserve. Plot it out on your calendar, because it’ll only last a week.
