The Plaza’s mother-daughter tandem of Millie and Karla Reyes spared nothing to serve a sumptuous cocktail buffet after President Aquino’s State of the Nation Address (Sona) at Batasan last Monday.

The main draw, of course, was The Plaza’s signature Premium Baked Ham with four sauces, taken with pan de sal bun.

After the Sona, guests walked to the hall strewn with cocktail tables to enjoy the food and drinks. Mr. Aquino himself made a brief appearance, deluged with photograph- and autograph-seekers.

Served at cocktails in various food stations were salmon and tuna sashimi,California maki, kani/tamago, Chef’s pate with melba toast, vegetable sticks with dip in shot glass, Fish ’N’ Chips, bouchees with creamy shiitake with gorgonzola, chicken lollipop, bite-size cream cheese Burger.

For desserts—bite-size California raisin cheesecake, cheese brownies bites, Croquembouche, banana mini muffins, decadent chocolate cake.
