L’Oréal Professionnel’s Retro Nouveau Fall-Winter Color Collection recreates vintage Hollywood glamour with a modern twist by using the new shadow illusion technique through a palette of cool blondes, copper and violets. On Nov. 6, seasoned local hairdressers unveil their interpretations of looks made famous by iconic women Brigitte Bardot, Liz Taylor and Twiggy using the latest innovations in hair color—revisiting the past while keeping an eye on the future.

Taking cue from international designers like Jil Sander, Stella McCartney, Alber Elbaz of Lanvin and Miuccia Prada who were inspired by ’50s and ’60s fashion, the premier beauty brand will showcase the latest hair trends that are taking over the runways of Paris.

The collection will also be featured in the evening at the LOOK of Style Awards event through a collaboration with past finalists Mark Tamayo, Barbie Alvez and Niño Angeles.

The event is to be staged by LOOK Magazine, Inquirer Lifestyle and the British Council.

The annual search for the next generation of Filipino fashion designers will also feature the eco-chic designs of this year’s finalists: Cebuanos Mike Yapching, Hanz Coquilla and Rey Villegas; from Davao, Ivan Raborar, Dionisio “Joao” Tarepe and Jun Artajo; and from Manila, Vania Romoff, Roland Alzate, Roxanne Hoey and Renan Pacson.

The winning fashion designer will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to London’s prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design to take a short course of his/her choice, a spot in Inquirer Lifestyle and LOOK Magazine’s Face-Off fashion show, and business mentoring from fashion industry professionals.

Through this event, L’Oréal Professionnel reinforces its influence not only in the beauty industry, but also in the fashion industry.

The morning show will also feature the creations of “Project Runway” designers and makeup by Shu Uemura.

The L’Oréal Professionnel Retro Nouveau Fall-Winter Color Collection 2012-2013 show will be on Nov. 6, 11 a.m., at Rockwell Tent, Plaza Garden, Rockwell Center, Makati City.
