Here’s a bit of silver lining amid the holiday rush for motorists taking the road this holiday season: San Miguel Corporation (SMC), through its infrastructure arm, is waiving all toll fees on its expressways for Christmas and New Year.

Major southern tollways Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR), Southern Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway, NAIA Expressway (NAIAX) and the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in the north are waiving all toll fees from Dec. 24, 10 p.m., to Dec. 25, 6 p.m., and on Dec. 31, 10 p.m., to Jan. 1, 6 a.m.

“This is an annual tradition that we do for the benefit of motorists, especially those who have to see family in other parts of the city or have to go home to the provinces,” SMC president and chief operating officer Ramon S. Ang said.

While this offer is open for all, bear in mind that other restrictions still apply for those without travel authority and those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, among others.

We made a rundown of *everything* you need to know before hitting the road for the holidays here.
