The Little White Box Pop-Up Store at SM Megamall launched the super chic Save My Bag collection, a collaboration between designer Kiana Valenciano and illustrator Daryl Feril.
Save My Bag is crafted entirely in Bergamo, Italy, and is ultra-lightweight and rain-proof, and made from poly-lycra.
Valenciano studied at the Raffles Design Institute and Central Saint Martins.
The bags are bespoke since Feril drew illustrations on them. The acrylic drawings take their inspiration from nature.
“It was a fun experience working with Daryl for this unique, bespoke collection,” Kiana told us. “I love collaborating with people who share the same creative and artistic vision, and I’m equally excited with how awesome the bags turned out. I actually use them every day.”
Kiana’s parents—who else but Gary Valenciano and Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano—helped her entertain the guests.
The Little White Box Pop-Up Store is at SM Megamall, 3/F, Mandaluyong City.
Techie forum
Beyond the Box, the premium gadget and tech accessories retailer, recently hosted another installment of its Box Talks at Le Petit Soufflé in Century City Mall, Makati.
Featured was David Bonifacio, managing director of New Leaf Ventures and a digital art enthusiast who talked about his “weapons of choice”—the Apple iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil.
“With the right tools, creating becomes simple,” he said.
He explained that the iPad Pro is perfect for multitasking. He demonstrated that through the screen-splitting feature, one can sketch while checking e-mails, watching instructional videos, or viewing photos.
He summarized his artistic process in three steps: “capture, create and share.”
Audiences were challenged to draw using an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil.
Beyond the Box said it wanted to educate those who felt intimidated by technology.
It seeks to provide concise tutorials on mobile apps, like Safari, iBooks, iMovie and Notes, and give insights on proper use of technology.
“Drawing is very simple,” said Bonifacio. “Everything else is practice. And with the technology we now have access to the barriers to be creative are obliterated and the ability to make is unlimited.”

Asian Carmakers Corp. (ACC), official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, recently unveiled the all-new BMW 7 Series at the grand ballroom of the new Shangri-La at The Fort.
BMW 7 Series marks an important milestone in BMW’s technological evolution by combining groundbreaking features in design, functionality and passenger well-being and comfort that define contemporary automotive luxury.

“Today,” she added, “this sixth-generation BMW 7 Series introduced new technologies such as carbon core that reduces overall weight by up to 130 kilograms, and a full suite of innovations like Touch Command, Gesture control, Sky Lounge with Panorama Glass Roof.”
“This all-new BMW 7 Series embodies our quest for modern mobility, the highest quality and absolute precision. This is truly a masterpiece from BMW, and probably the best car we have ever built.”
