Fun slumber party in new Ortigas hotel | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

I’ve always said that we should know how to let our hair down and have some fun, let your inner kid out and be carefree, even for a night. It’s not just for frivolity’s sake, but rather, a necessity—especially in this day and age.

I was lucky enough to let go and be a kid again when my Assumption BFF Jojo Ongsiako and her daughter Mica, plus my Athena, spent a fun and furry onesies girls’ night at the new Citadines in Ortigas.

The property is managed by the international serviced residence chain, The Ascott Limited based in Singapore, and is owned by CDC Holdings Inc., a premier real estate developer in the Philippines.

Located at the center of the Ortigas business and commercial districts, Citadines is The Ascott Limited’s first venture north of Metro Manila.

We were welcomed by the executive management committee of The Ascott Limited’s Philippine cluster, headed by the regional general manager of the Philippines and Thailand, Arthur Gindap, and the head of CDC Holdings Inc., Elsie Chua.

The property’s vibrant and modern interiors were highlighted through an elegant live photo wall filled with greenery, which ties in with the main theme of the property, bio mimicry.

For its soft opening period, aside from the available serviced apartments, two food and beverage outlets have opened to the public: Relish Luxe Café, which offers a unique fusion of Filipino, Asian and Western
cuisine; and Aburi, whose menu features modern Japanese dishes.

Citadines Millennium Ortigas’ facilities include the Resident’s Lounge, swimming pool, self-laundry service and fitness center, all available to guests and residents. Soon it will also be opening function rooms.

Hair couture

Speaking of letting your hair down, Balmain, the fashion brand known for its beautiful couture, launched its Balmain Hair Couture Salon Tour Series in a kickoff event at Headzone Salon in Shangri-La Plaza’s East Wing.

The Balmain Paris fashion house created Hair Couture to achieve high fashion every day.
With over 40 years of heritage in combining hair essentials with the latest runway trends, Balmain Hair Couture has established its legitimacy in the field of luxury.

Each collection, inspired by backstage secrets that create the ultimate catwalk-inspired look, is exclusively done in small batches. It’s all about perfection with Balmain Hair, that’s why all collections consist of a small but complete line of only the best-selling products.

The launch had some of the most beautiful people in the metro enjoying luxurious food and an endless flow of champagne.
Guests were also treated to a combination of treatments and full makeovers especially made for them to experience true luxury in hair care and styling —what Balmain Hair Couture is all about.

Hosted by radio DJ Katz Salao, with DJ Jessica Milner handling the music, the launch was truly a night of luxury.

Balmain Hair Couture is  distributed by iBloom Corporation, and brought in the Philippines by founder and CEO Mirasol C. Salao.

Luxury cars at polo match

Luxury was also the theme of the recent 1st Maserati
Negros Polo Invitational held at the La Provincia Polo Club in Bacolod City. There were two dominant teams in their horses prancing around in blue and red uniforms, with the Trident Logo warming up to start what is popularly known as the “Game of Kings.”
Besides the polo ponies on the field, there were two Maserati Levante cars and one Ghibli sedan which were flown all the way from Manila.
Each car was seen displayed on the other side of the field showcasing the Italian luxury vehicle brand’s first SUV, the Maserati Levante in black and white.

Maserati Philippines representative Jason Soong co-hosted the event with La Provincia Polo Club owner Ricardo Garcia, who also headed the Blue team with Manolet Escalante and Dino Gutierrez.

Each team gave their all at the games. The Red team, with members Buboy Yusay, James Dinsay and Andre Corro, outscored the Blue team and won the games, officiated by Coco Garcia, owner of Canes and Stables.

Sunset tunes were played by DJ Manolet Dario while the Bose Sound Sport wireless headphones were awarded to the Red team.

Don Papa cocktails were served and Bacolod’s finest specialties like Aida’s Chicken Inasal and Bar 21’s delicious La Paz Batchoy were specially prepared for the guests.

Autostrada is at 32nd St. cor. 4th Ave., Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Call 8562277.

King of TVs

From the game of kings to the king of TVs: The Samsung QLED TV recently held an event to introduce my co-endorser, filmmaker Paul Soriano, with his peers and family in attendance.

With uncompromising eye for detail, the 35-year-old Soriano has won several awards and accolades in the global scene.

Meticulous and unapologetic when it comes to picture quality, Paul’s impeccable taste has been matched by Samsung’s newest offering, the QLED TV.

With 100 percent color volume, the QLED TV can show Paul’s work as close to real life as possible, depicting on screen what the director’s eye takes in an actual setting, giving depth and realness to the film.

The brand’s exclusive Quantum Dot innovation succeeds where conventional TVs fail, maintaining the integrity of hues on screen during brightly lit scenes.

New driving range

It’s no secret that I love to play golf, especially with my family. I’m quite excited about the new driving range of Valley Golf and Country Club. Prominent local leaders led by Rizal Gov. Nini Ynares, Taytay Mayor George Gacula II and Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto led the inaugural along with Valley Golf officers Boy San Pedro, Chito Polintan, JV Santos, Abet de la Cruz and Ver Bucat.

This state-of-the-art driving range has two-level driving bays, all equipped with convex mirrors to check your stance, grip and altogether look!

The upper-level bays feature the revolutionary TMAXGOLF motorless dispensers. All you need is a tap and the ball is all ready for your drive.

This range has a distance of 240 yards, making it friendly to hardcore golfers as well as beginners.

Chill with ice-cold beer and Korean buffet after hitting the balls.

The Valley Golf Driving Ransge is open to the public from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Check it out.
