Kapamilya star Kim Chiu remains optimistic despite the crisis brought about by the much-feared COVID-19 and the retrenchment of ABS-CBN workers.
In a prayer she shared with her fans and followers on Instagram and Twitter today, July 22, Chiu radiated positivity as she allays her fears caused by the uncertainties.
“Since the start of this year so many things happened, 2020 made our faith grow much stronger than ever. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring us. What we will be facing in the next few months, we are just crossing half of 2020,” she said in her prayer.
“Everyday I wake up there is always fear inside me, fear of COVID-19, fear of my [second] home being shut down by the government, fear for my co workers who have lost their [jobs] not because of the pandemic but because of unjust treatment, fear for my [family’s] health, fear for what will happen to us in the coming months with COVID-19 case, still going up estimated 85k by the end of July. Fear for so many people that are starving right now,” she added.

But Chiu believes in the power of prayer as she said, “But I know, HE can hear us, HE can see us, HE will provide for us. We must not give up our faith in HIM. It is hard, this is a test of faith.”
“May You protect us Lord Jesus, [may] you remind us that it was you who sent us. You will see us through. We lift everything in your mighty name. Amen. #faith #trust #inJesusnameWepray,” Chiu prayed.
Chiu’s Twitter followers echoed the actress’ positive vibes.
One @IreelLumaban joined her in prayer, saying, “Lalaban tayo hanggang sa dulo @prinsesachinita. Tiwala lang sa taas malalagpasan nyo yan kahit masira na tv ko hanggat di kayo bumabalik mananatiling nakaclose yun promise. Sa cellphone nalang muna tayo magkita-kita at magkumuztahan pangsamantala.”
(We will fight till the end @princesschinita. Just trust God that you will overcome all these. Even if it means closing my television until you return on air, promise. We will just see each other on our cellphones and there we can check on each other.)
Another fan, @YoungRainee, felt the same, “Let’s keep on praying & Laban lang (just fight) Jia Wong!! este (I mean) Kimmy pala!! despite all this let’s still be positive! Just to let you know mom and lola love & watch LTW hope wag muna mtapos (hope it doesn’t end yet) coz it really helps them, to at least my time na nadadivert yung [pagka-sad nila at bored sa] mga ganap! (At least there is time to divert their attention away from the sadness and boredom).”
One fan, @aries_cel, meanwhile reminded the actress that “Strong walls [shake] but never collapse. Stay strong lang (Just stay strong) Ate Kimmy.”
Chiu has been one of Kapamilya artists who have been vocal about their support for their home network ABS-CBN amid the non-renewal of its franchise, as decided upon by Congress, resulting to massive job losses. Along with another Kapamilya star Angel Locsin, Chiu has also been actively participating in COVID-19 relief efforts. JB
