How to Get There

Catanduanes can be reached by direct flight from Manila to Virac, via Cebu Pacific and Zest Air, with travel time of about 55 minutes. By land, air-conditioned buses leave Manila for Virac and San Andres daily via the port of Tabaco City, Albay, where the buses are then loaded on a roro (roll-on-roll-off) ferry.

Tricycles are the main mode of transportation around Virac; there are no cabs.  Major establishments have their own transport vehicles for guests.  If you plan to travel to other parts of Catanduanes, it’s best to hire a private van.

Where to Stay

Check in at Twin Rock Beach Resort, a pleasant beachside resort nestled within green hills with a view of two small islets. The resort has its own zipline which allows guests to glide over the water, a 40-foot climbing wall and a Wipeout-like obstacle course that’s great for team-building sessions. There are a couple of ATVs, kayaks and snorkeling gear for rent as well. During low tide, when the ocean is just ankle-deep to knee-deep, you can actually walk to the turtle-shaped Twin Rock islets from where you can get a view of the amazing waves that break before they reach the cove.
