In a dazzling display of Italian culture and art, the actors and actresses of “Turandot” brought the classical Italian opera to life recently on the Cultural Center of the Philippines stage. Attended by of Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo and Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, the event brought together Manila high society to enjoy a display of artistry never before seen on Philippine shores.
The event was not lacking in willing and generous sponsors, either. Nedy Tantoco, chairperson and CEO of Rustan Commercial Corp., produced and sponsored the production, alongside the Italian embassy.
The cast was fantastic, as well. “Turandot” was, without a doubt, a smashing success. We can only hope that we see more of its kind here in the Philippines. —CONTRIBUTED
