Here’s a piece of good news for all the foodies whose favorite restos are a bit farther away from where they live: GrabFood is now offering a long-distance feature that will help you cater to your quarantine cravings.

Through an official statement on their website, GrabFood introduced its newest feature which benefits both customers and food merchants. Aside from giving customers access to a larger number of restaurants, the app’s long-distance feature also grants food businesses and delivery partners the opportunity to earn more despite quarantine restrictions.

Currently, customers can order from restaurants that fall under a 10-kilometer radius from their home under the new order feature. However, not all restaurants are available for this option yet, so you would need to check the GrabFood app from time to time to see if your favorite food place has already enabled long-distance delivery.

Among the restaurants offering delivery in Makati are Frankie’s New York Buffalo Wings and Angrydobo, while Wildflour and Mos Burger now offer their food to those who reside in Quezon City. Customers in Parañaque can now also buy from Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza and Wingman, while those in Pasig can buy from Your Local and Lola Nena’s as well. Lastly, foodies in Manila can get a hold on Uncle Moe’s Shawarma Hub and Single Origin.

Of course, the delivery fee for long-distance orders will be higher since you are ordering from a restaurant that is much farther away. This will be computed “using a system-generated engine that estimates the distance between your delivery location and the restaurant that you are ordering from” in order to make sure that GrabFood’s partner riders are compensated properly. 

“We are doubling down on our promise to give Filipinos the food they love by going beyond the distance. Through GrabFood’s Long Distance feature, we open more delicious possibilities for customers to enjoy, and at the same time support our merchant partners and delivery-rider partners in the process,” said GrabFood Philippines head EJ Dela Vega.
