‘Tis the season for boy groups

F4, 5SOS, Be:First, Wave to Earth, and BTS lead a lineup for fans who have no plans of outgrowing their bias

Looking for a boy group fix? You’re in luck. Whether you grew up swooning over F4, came of age screaming lyrics to 5 Seconds of Summer, or are impatiently counting down the days until BTS’ return, the year ahead has plenty in store. Live Nation Philippines recently rolled out a concert lineup featuring male-led groups across different eras and genres, for every generation of music lover.

Here are the major acts coming your way:

F Forever – “City of Stars”

The forecast for longtime F4 fans may well be another “Season of Fireworks.” More than 20 years after F4 got Filipinos hooked on afternoon television, Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, and Vic Chou—three members of the boy band that sparked the “Meteor Garden” craze—join forces with Ashin, frontman of Taiwanese rock band Mayday, to form F Forever.

The reunion project will land at the Philippine Arena on June 27 as part of its “City of Stars” tour. Fresh off three sold-out shows in Indonesia, the production has a reported budget of NTD250 million, which translates to “spectacular highlights,” including a four-point star stage and 20 spiffy outfits. Fans can also expect new arrangements of classics like “Meteor Rain” and solo segments that will showcase each artist’s individual charm.

Representing a new generation of J-pop, Be:First will bring their “Be:World Showcase 2026” to the New Frontier Theater on Oct. 3. Like the escalating intensity of their hit “Rondo,” the Japanese boy band’s career is swelling into a crescendo as it seeks to expand its reach beyond Japan. The Manila stop also comes as Sota, Shunto, Manato, Ryuhei, Junon, and Leo celebrate their fifth anniversary.

“I’m really happy… It’s another opportunity to perform around the world,” Manato says in a statement. “For many listeners outside Japan, it may be their first time seeing us live, so I do hope we can show an even more evolved version of the six of us.”

5 Seconds of Summer – “Everyone’s a Star!”

They may have already outgrown the “boy band” label, but 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) will always be a soundtrack to 2010s teenage life.

The Australian quartet—Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin—will return to Manila on Nov. 12 at SM Mall of Asia Arena. The group is currently touring behind its sixth and latest album, “Everyone’s a Star,” which spawned the hits “Not Ok,” “Telephone Busy,” and “Boyband.”

With this new release, 5SOS ushers in what they describe as their “most ambitious era yet,” and marks another chapter in their evolution from teen sensation into a more mature pop-rock act that “continues to reinvent what a modern band can be.”

Wave to Earth

Not every act on this list fits neatly into the boy band mold. But for listeners who prefer a more laid-back sound, South Korean trio Wave to Earth is a dreamy alternative.

Gearing up for the release of their new album, the band—Daniel Kim, John Cha, and Dong Q—will crash onto Philippine shores and hold court at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Nov. 15. While fans can expect new music, like the recently released “Heaven and Hell,” the group is still sure to leave the venue awash with the lush synths and soundscapes of their well-loved hits “Seasons,” “Love,” and “Bad.”

BTS – “Arirang”

Then comes the event many fans have been waiting for.

Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook are bringing their “Arirang” world tour to the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan on March 13 and 14, 2027. With 85 shows across 34 regions worldwide, the production utilizes a “360-degree, in-the-round stage design to maximize stadium capacity and place fans at the center of the action.”

Though only two months into the road, the tour is already being touted as the largest K-pop tour of all time. According to a press release, BTS sold out all 41 of their North American stadium dates during the initial sale, moving an estimated 2.4 million tickets.

Indeed, with this level of demand, the Army’s collective mantra for the upcoming Manila stop will probably be, “Please,” give us “One More Night.”
