Spirit possession driving her nephew to suicide | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Another reader, Myrna (not her real name), wrote about her nephew who, for no reason, attempted to commit suicide. He was a happy and carefree boy, not one who would think of ending his life.

She found out the house they moved into a month ago has had a history of suicides. They did not commit suicide in the house her sister was renting, but in the neighboring house also owned by the same family.

“This morning,” continued Myrna, “one of my nephews attempted to hang himself (apparently for no reason at all).”

His younger brother witnessed the incident. At first, they were horsing around, since classes had been suspended due to the typhoon. The next minute, his brother’s eyes turned blank and he said (in Tagalog), “Now, I am going to hang myself.”

“He took the bed sheets, tied the end to his neck and the other end to the divider. All the time, his younger brother was telling him to stop fooling around. He realized his brother was not kidding when he actually hanged himself, his body in spasms. The brother quickly untied him and his body slumped on the floor. He was unconscious. He slapped him several times until he woke up.

“This nephew of mine is a happy child,” said Myrna. When his mother asked him why he wanted to take his own life, he replied, ‘I will never do that!’

“When his mother questioned him further, the boy said his mind just went blank and the next thing he knew, he was being invited by men in white to what seemed like paradise. But the location was just in their backyard. He said it was beautiful and even had a swimming pool. One of the men told him to just stay there and swim as long as he wants. And then he heard his brother’s voice calling him, he woke up.

“Was this a case of spirit possession?” asked Myrna “What should we do so it won’t happen again? I believe my nephew when he said he would never do that. There were also two deaths by hanging that occurred in a nearby house. We have decided to move out of the house, but will this solve the problem? Couldn’t the spirits attach themselves to my nephew?”—Myrna

Trance

Dear Myrna,

Yes, this is clearly a case of spirit possession. The boy’s mind went blank because he went into a trance and was possessed by the spirit.

It is possible that the spirit that possessed him was an elemental living in the backyard of the houses, because that is where the men in white invited him to go.

But the spirits of the two who committed suicide in the nearby house also must have helped bring the energy of death by hanging to drive your nephew into attempting suicide. Leaving the house may not solve the problem completely.

I must point out that your nephew is sensitive to the spirit world, and that’s why he was the one who was affected. He should learn how to protect himself from intrusions of earth-bound spirits and elementals.

Even if the family leaves the present house, your nephew can still be affected or influenced by other types of spirits that may be present in the new house.

Your nephew should learn how to strengthen his will and protect himself from spirits who may want to possess him. If the intruding entity is demonic, a St. Benedict’s medal can help  protect him, but if these are elementals or nature spirits or are benign spirits, the St. Benedict’s medal is useless against them.

I suggest that you consult a psychic or medium who is a clairvoyant and can see and talk to the spirits to find out why they are there and what can be done to protect your nephew. The houses where the persons committed suicide should also be cleansed of the energy left by them, so as not to influence present occupants who are sensitive to these subtle forces. But this should be done only with permission of the owners of the houses. If it’s only their house that is cleansed, the spirits in the other house can still roam around your nephew’s house.
