If you’re a motorist looking to avoid traffic by passing through Skyway Stage 3, you need not worry about toll fees just yet. San Miguel Corporation president Ramon Ang recently announced that the expressway will not be charging toll fees until Feb. 1.
Skyway Stage 3 officially began operations on Jan. 15, opening all seven lanes and access points to all motorists. The project goes from the South Luzon Expressway in Alabang up to the North Luzon Expressway in Balintawak, and is expected to cut short to 30 minutes the travel time from SLEX to NLEX, and vice versa.
Ang announced that the toll-free period was extended from Jan. 29 so that “motorists can experience and enjoy seamless driving along this engineering marvel over Metro Manila’s congested streets.”
The expressway is expected to decongest and improve traffic flow in thoroughfares such as EDSA and C5. Skyway Stage 3 partially opened on Dec. 29, with motorists reporting improved traffic flow during its initial operations.
