The creator of the smiley face, Harvey Ball, began World Smile Day in 1999 as a way to make others smile through kind acts.
In countries like the Philippines, the main factor preventing one from receiving treatment is poverty.
Part of the proceeds of each painting purchase will go to Smile Train, which the charity will use to fund free cleft surgery for kids.
Smile Train, with support from Marian Rivera, has helped alter the course of patients’ lives, whether it’s through them finding a job or finishing college.
It’s World Smile Day, and Megan Young and Aubrey Miles are helping out to provide free surgeries for cleft lip and cleft palate patients through Smile Train.
