Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle said, “The eyes of the Vatican are on us,” not to police but to see what happens in the Philippine Conference on New Evangelization (PCNE) that he has organized on Oct. 16-18 at the University of Santo Tomas.
All dioceses in the Philippines will simultaneously hold the “Total Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary” on June 8 at 10 a.m. as mandated by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines.
Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle left evening of Feb. 26 to join the other cardinals in the Vatican conclave.
Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle officiated the concelebrated Mass of the Holy Spirit last Jan. 12 for volunteers of the Sovereign Order of Malta. He cited the need for regular visits to the sick in one’s parish. Recalling his experience as a priest volunteer at the Missionaries of Charity center when he was studying in the US, he saw how the homeless, the dying and the HIV-AIDS patients badly needed to have someone with them, to feel the compassion of another human being.
