MANILA, Philippines — Mutya Johanna Datul, Binibining Pilipinas representative to the Miss Supranational 2013, took home the crown in the beauty pageant in Minsk, Belarus Saturday (Manila time).

The 21-year-old, who stands 5-foot 8-inches from Sta. Maria, Isabela province outshone 80 other contestants from all over the world.

The Computer Programming beauty from Isabela State University also won the Miss Personality award in the pre-pageant held on August 28.

Before flying to Belarus, Datul participated in the Inquirer Read Along on August 10 when she read a story to children centered on friendship between Muslim and Christian Filipinos.

In the storytelling session at the Philippine Daily Inquirer office in Makati City, Datul was with Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Ariella Arida, who will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2013 to be held in Moscow, Russia on November 9.
