One of the best things about living in the Philippines is having the opportunity to appreciate the great talent of Filipino designers. Fashion is at its peak as modern Filipino women (and men) take pride in knowing they have a keen eye and taste for good and beautiful pieces.
Maureen Disini
Maureen’s substantial credentials in fashion—she studied fashion design at the Instituto di Moda Burgo, fashion business at the Instituto Marangoni in Milan and bridal wear at the Central Saint Martins in Paris, apart from serving as fashion editor of Philippine Tatler for over four years—and her attention to ornate detail has made her the top choice for stylists, celebrities, socialites, diplomats and brides. Her feminine designs are timeless, classy and tasteful. Wearing one of her gowns will make you feel sophisticated and special—as if you had just stepped off the pages of a fashion magazine.
Maureen sees to it her clients are comfortable with her designs, and she works with their body type, highlighting their assets while ensuring that they look (and feel) their best in her pieces. She plays with stretch fabric, tulle and chiffon, and is quite fond of draping.
Her pieces constantly appear streamlined, tailored and clean, and she delivers a perfect fit. She is widely recognized not only for her outstanding talent, but also for her humility and dedication to her craft.
Joel Escober
Joel is into fashion that involves intricate detailing, bright jewel tones and embellished belts, his signature. His designs are stunning, his pieces dreamy and exquisite, with lots of ruffles, pleats, origami folding. His designs hint at nostalgia, seemingly inspired by Old-World fantasies. While his current designs suggest a more subtle side of him, his romantic qualities are consistently revealed in every piece.
Eric de los Santos
Romantic and feminine but with an edgy twist defines Eric de Los Santos’ pieces. His love for lace and beads, his infatuation with detail, and the extra attention he gives his clients have made him a favorite.
Eric’s most recent muse, Megan Young sported his gown during the Miss World Philippine competition. Eric makes sure his vision is aligned with his client’s requirements and preferences. His pieces are current, modern and fashion-forward. He enjoys mixing special details in his designs—fringe and lace, for instance, or chiffon and zippers. He is likewise known for his seasonal design collaborations with Folded & Hung’s Luxe collection.
