Each time you do good for yourself, your life expectancy is lengthened. This applies to the body.

 

And the moment you do good toward others, your inner vitality is revived, which directly benefits your physical health.

 

Here’s a to-do list of good things  that will guide you along the path to wellbeing.

 

1) Natural detox

 

Do you know that in order to get the maximum benefit from fruits and vegetables, you must have at least five servings a day? All things natural absorb toxic substances trapped within the body—especially if they are organic.

 

2) Chew more

 

It’s either you chew your food well (15-18 times before swallowing), or you can chop or pass  the veggies/fruits through a blender in order to increase absorption. “Blendered” food allows 80-percent absorption rate, while unchopped food has approximately a 30-percent absorption rate.

 

This is according to Russell Blaylock MD, author of “Health and Nutrition Secrets that Can Save Your Lives.”

 

3) Sweet but safe

 

When it comes to sweet delights, replace sugar substitutes with coconut sugar, stevia and agave. Synthetic sweeteners, according to health experts, have been strongly linked to brain tumors.

 

4) Flavonoids help

 

Brightly colored fruits and vegetables are rich in flavonoids.  They carry basic vitamins and minerals. For example, green tea is a powerful neutralizer of benzene, a known carcinogen. Ultrapasteurized fruit juices convert beta-carotene, phenylalanine and terpene into benzene.

 

5) High blood pressure remedy

 

While some people have adopted the habit of taking aspirin daily as a blood thinner, beware of this self-prescribed habit. This is because aspirin, when taken on an empty stomach, can irritate the lining of your tummy.

 

Natural blood thinners include, believe it or not, water and wine. Others are garlic, spices like cayenne, curry powder, ginger, cinnamon, paprika, peppermint, oregano, and  turmeric, oranges, prunes, strawberries, grapes, cranberries and cherries.

 

Toxic chemicals

 

6) Brain health first

 

Neuroscientists worldwide agree that the health of your brain is the key to good health.  Unfortunately, what affects the brain in a devastating manner are toxic chemicals from herbicides, pesticides and fungicides.  Watch out for formaldehyde, an out-gas from construction materials and fillers in certain carpets. Constant exposure to toxicity leads to brain tumors.

 

Mercury is a potent inducer of cancer. It is found in dental amalgams and toxic seafood from contaminated oceans.

 

7) Natural anti-inflammatories

 

Vitamin C is a potent anti-inflammatory that leads the list of health- and heart-friendly ingredients like garlic extract, quercetin (found in onions), extravirgin olive oil, curcumin and omega-3 oils (flaxseed, fatty fish).  The exciting news is that ellagic acid found in pomegranates has been discovered to prevent and reverse atherosclerosis.

 

8) B12 for the heart

 

Vegetarians, listen up. A deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to heart disease. But whether you eat protein or not, make sure to supplement with B12.

 

9) Live longer

 

There are studies that show once the body reaches age 92, it no longer ages. And the brain will last long, too.

 

Basic rules:

 

Don’t do anything in excess  —drink and eat moderately.

Do not smoke.

Stay happy.

Exercise regularly.

Sleep well.

Maintain good friendships and strong family ties.
