There’s no doubt about it—Marlon Stockinger has an insatiable need for speed. The twenty-year-old Filipino-Swiss Formula One racer began racing in 2006 and became the first Filipino to win a Formula race in Europe when he was just 19.

Marlon is very passionate about being the fastest on track so it came as no surprise that Globe chose him to be the face of their Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini, a broadband stick that promises to be the fastest in the market.

Dong Ronquillo, head of Globe Tattoo, said, “The wait is over. Our subscribers can experience real 4G technology with the new Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini. We are very excited to provide our subscribers with the fastest mobile internet connectivity that they thought was never possible.”

Super sat down with Marlon to talk about his passion for racing, Globe Tattoo’s Lamborghini broadband stick and why he loves the internet.

Tell us about your love for speed.

It’s something that is very deep-rooted because that’s what my life is about at this moment in time. My profession involves speed, I do car-racing, I race GP3.

Why do you think Globe picked you to endorse Globe Tattoo’s Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini broadband stick?

Globe wants to be the fastest in the market and I want to be the fastest on track so that complements each other and it goes hand in hand. That’s why this relationship we have now is working and that’s why they chose me as their brand ambassador. I feel very privileged to have this opportunity.

When did you discover your love for racing?

I discovered it when my father took me to the racetrack for the first time. I was about nine and a half years old. Before that point, I had no interest in raising at all. That’s where it all kicked off. He just had to take me there. It was always a love I had but never knew about until I realized it that day.

Can you tell us about the biggest race you’ve won?

It would have to be when I won my first race. It was pretty spectacular because it happened on the last lap and the last corner and I overtook two people. It was a pretty spectacular way to win my first go-kart race as a kid. I’ll never forget that day. I think I was 10 or 11. It took a while for me to get there but once I started winning, I didn’t stop.

What are your other passions?

I’m passionate about sports in general. I’ve always had a love for sports. Basketball, football and stuff like that. And in a way, a bit of fashion. It’s something that’s only come up recently. I think it’s because of all the people who have been behind me in the past, my PR and stuff, they’re involved a lot in fashion and I guess that’s opened a new chapter and a new book in my life. I’m kind of interested in it.

Do you intend to explore your interest in fashion?

I don’t know. At this moment in time, I can only say I have a very genuine interest in it. I read a lot of the magazines—Esquire, GQ, and stuff like that. I don’t know when or how I would ever explore that. Right now it’s just a hobby. I spend a lot of time in the plane and normally all I can do is read magazines.

When is your next big race and how are you preparing for it?

My next big race is in Valencia and it will be middle of June. I’ll be preparing by doing training in the gym. Next week also we’ll be going to some racetracks to do some testing to make sure the team and I are prepared before it all kicks off.

Are you in school now?

Unfortunately, no. I was in school but stopped when I moved to England. I’m only 20 right now and I’m still very young. With the opportunity I have now, this is the only time in my life I can make the most out of it. It’s basically blown if I don’t make it. I can always go back to school. I promised my father, no matter what happens, I will finish my education.

What do you want to study?

To be fair, I haven’t asked myself that question. I wouldn’t know what to answer and I’d be lying if I just made one up.

Tell us about the Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini broadband stick.

It’s just really cool how it’s 10mbps. It’s very fast. I don’t think there’s any other product that can beat it. And it’s very convenient to have a broadband stick with you because you can log on to the web anytime if you want to do e-mail, if you want to check your Facebook and Twitter and stuff. It’s very convenient and liberating. You don’t always have to connect to a wifi server and get a password. It’s more of a shortcut. It just speeds up the process which is what they want to do. And it’s a very good-looking product. You have the nice Lamborghini logo on it, it’s very sleek. Definitely can’t be shy about pulling this stick out and plugging it into the internet.

Do you spend a lot of time online?

A good two hours online every day.

What are your five favorite websites?

Facebook, Twitter, Autosport (www.autosport.com), it’s a motor racing news website, YouTube and my website (www.marlonstockinger.com).

What’s the first thing you do when you go online?

I check my e-mails.

Do you keep in touch with your fans online?

Yes, I actually have a Facebook fan page and I also have a Twitter account (@imstockinger). I’m the admin, I’m the one who created the page so it’s really personal.

What do you love the most about the internet?

Its ability to connect people no matter where they are in the world. It’s very convenient because I’m always away from my family and friends. If the internet wasn’t there, it would make everything different. But no, I’m always up to date, it doesn’t make anything awkward, it’s like you just saw them. Especially with Skype, the face time you have just makes it so convenient. Keeping in touch has never been easier.

Is there anything you hate about it?

It’s very easy to be addicted. There’s so much stuff on there that you can waste a day almost just by looking at random things. That’s the beauty of it in a way. But you have to control yourself sometimes.

How do you relax?

My version of relaxing is being able to stay home, just being with my family, just soaking up the sun here while I’m in the Philippines. Just enjoying what you normally take for granted when you have longer time to spend here in the Philippines.

The Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini stick is available under Tattoo’s newest postpaid plan of P2199 per month. Visit https://tattoo.globe.com.ph or call 7301000.
