Mummy-fy your home this Halloween with this easy DIY activity.
Wrap cheesecloth strips around a throw pillow and transform it into a funny mummy to delight your kids and guests.
Materials:
Cheesecloth, around 5 yards (enough for one 16 x 16-inch throw pillow)
Big safety pins
Bond paper
Black marker
Scissors
Cut cheesecloth into narrow strips, around 6-8 inches for a
16 x 16-in throw pillow. Adjust thickness and yardage if throw pillow is bigger.
On the back side of the throw pillow, secure one end of the cheesecloth strip and start wrapping the fabric around the throw pillow.
When you reach the end of the cheesecloth, secure with a big safety pin that should be exposed to add a whimsical touch.
Fold a sheet of bond paper in half crosswise, and cut into an irregular-shaped circle.
Use the marker to draw a border around the paper cutout to define the shape, and draw a circle on one side and fill in. This will be the eyes.
Insert the eyes under one strip of cheesecloth, which should be enough to secure them in place.
