MANILA, Philippines — A resolution was filed at the Senate on Monday commending Catriona Gray for “honoring the country with the prestigious and most coveted Miss Universe crown and title.”
Senate Resolution No. 376 was initiated by Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguezl Zubiri after Gray was crowned Miss Universe 2018.

She is the fourth Filipina to win the tile after Gloria Diaz (1969), Maria Margarita Roxas Moran (1973), and Pia Wurtzbach (2015)
“As this year’s Miss Universe, Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray will be the voice of the Miss Universe Organization and promote its mission of affecting positive change in the world through volunteering, fundraising and advocacy,” the resolution read.
“For winning the Miss Universe title, Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray has brought great pride, honor and glory to the country and the Filipino people, worthy of praise and commendation of this august Chamber,” it added.
The resolution noted Gray’s “invaluable work” in raising awareness for various causes and her partnership with various organizations in her efforts to effect “real and lasting social change.” /ee
