Former newscaster Christine Bersola-Babao is helping out a livelihood project which will benefit 23 families who need to construct roofs for their homes.

Bersola sought help for the project via her Instagram page, June 7, where she posted several photos of women showcasing multipurpose hand-painted cans and canisters.

“Hi Friends! I need your help [and] to share this post also. My latest Passion Projec: Para sa Yero at Pako, the Upcycling challenge,” she said.

“Handmade, Handpainted with love, effort [and] creativity by the families, for 500 pesos worth per item that you purchase, each family will be able to buy one Yero (galvanized iron sheet) para sa kanilang bubong (for their roof),” she added.

Bersola also stated that each family needs about eight to ten galvanized iron sheets. She estimated its value to be at P5000, which covers wood and nails for the roof, but excludes roof insulation sheets. A basic foundation for each house of each beneficiary also already exists, she said, and all that is needed is the roof.

“[Please] DM us on this FB page (Tumana Iwahig Marikina Families): screenshot the item you like,” Bersola appealed. “Elisheva my co-admin will give instructions for payments [and] shipping.” JB
