Maybe forever does exist. One of South Korea’s most beloved real-life couples has revealed that their upcoming wedding is fast approaching. “Crash Landing on You” leads Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin happily announced on Feb. 10 that they’re getting married. Aside from giving us second-hand kilig, their reel-to-real romance has made fans like us think of the possibility of fated love.
Hyun Bin released his statement through his agency’s Instagram account. His post from VAST Entertainment reads in part: “I have made the important decision of marriage and am cautiously taking steps toward the second stage of my life. I have made this promise with the woman who always makes me laugh: to always walk together in the days that lie ahead. The ‘Jeonghyeok and Se-ri’ who were together in the drama will take the first step together in that future. I believe that people will rejoice and celebrate our first steps together with the same affection and warmth that you have shown us so far.”
While Hyun’s post has a photo of them holding hands, Son showed us a miniature wedding dress along with her short and sweet statement. “I have a person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. It’s true. It’s the person you’re all thinking of. Just being with him gives me a sense of warmth and dependability,” she wrote. “Thank you to everything that turned our relationship into destiny. Everyone, please congratulate the future that we’re going to make together.”
Both the actors’ agencies confirmed that the private Seoul wedding will be held in March and will be attended by the couple’s parents and acquaintances. While waiting to see a glimpse of the ceremony, we’re celebrating their upcoming marriage with a short list of some of our favorite BinJin moments.
Her first love
The teaser for Son’s guest appearance in an upcoming episode of “Yoo Quiz on the Block” which aired on Feb. 9 includes a heart-fluttering confession. Co-host Jo Se-ho prompted in a clip, “I’m curious about the first love of everyone’s first love.” She sweetly responded, “My current love is my first love.”
The rumored bodyguard sharing
Before the couple confirmed it, their relationship was speculated on by fans. Netizens claimed in 2020 that they spotted Hyun’s personal bodyguard accompanying Son in a video where she was greeting fans. The video was taken while Hyun was filming in Jordan for the film “Bargaining.” The strange arrangement led fans to believe that Hyun sent him to protect Son.
The Instagram like spree
Is Son the captain of the BinJin ship? Possibly. Son’s Instagram midnight liking spree is still fresh in our memories. Back in June 2020, fans noticed that she liked over 40 photos of her and Hyun on Instagram in a span of two hours. One of the posts was even captioned, “Please say you guys are actually dating.”
While there were fans that wondered whether Son got hacked, we now know that it was probably all her.
Possibly living together in a $4.3 million penthouse
Fans were already waiting for the wedding bells as early as August 2021. When Hyun bought a luxury penthouse apartment for $4.3 million last March, his agency denied that it was a marital home.
But months later, both Hyun and Son reportedly sold their respective high-end Seoul properties. This prompted more speculations that they finally moved in together in Hyun’s penthouse in the eco-friendly Achiul Village. If they truly have been living together since then, good for them. They’re living our dreams!
