Singer Ice Seguerra marked his and Liza Diño’s ninth anniversary as a couple by writing a heartfelt letter for the occasion.

“[Nine] years ago, you and I decided to seal our love with a commitment ceremony in Las Vegas. Akala kasi natin yun na yun eh. (We thought that that was it). Walang (There’s no) chance for us to really get married,” he recalled in his letter to Diño, as per his Instagram page yesterday, May 15.

Seguerra admitted they were very scared then as Diño was trying her luck anew in showbiz during that time. They were afraid that if the public learns about the wedding, Diño’s career might be affected.

“Kaso palpak naman tayo sa pagtatago kasi parang bawat galaw natin, may pilipino tayong parati nakakasalubong. Hahaha!!!” he added. (But we were a failure in keeping it a secret because in our every move, there is always a Filipino that we meet.)

Seguerra felt they were “dreamers back then, looking forward to what life will bring” them. Now, after nine years of having their share of ups and downs, the couple is able to rise against the tide.

“But what’s beautiful is that no matter kung anong ibinigay sa atin ng buhay (what life handed to us), yung pangako natin sa isa’t isa na (our promise to each other) that we will always face life together ay nananatiling totoo (remain true),” he said. “I love how we continue to find ways to understand and embrace each other.”

Seguerra also mentioned a line in Ogie Alcasid’s song, “Ikaw na lang ang siyang kulang sa buhay kong ito, pangarap ko ang ibigin ka…” (You are the only thing left that is missing in my life; my dream is to love you.)

“When we got married, all my dreams came true,” Seguerra said, adding that he could not ask for more, thanking Diño, and promising her his everlasting support and love.

In 2014, the couple got married in San Francisco, California, then got married again in a “symbolic wedding” in Batangas in 2015. JB
