It’s safe to say that the prestigious tournament had a star-studded audience in its midst

 


 

This year’s Wimbledon is definitely one for the books. The 2023 edition of The Championships saw Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz earn his first-ever Wimbledon title after denying Siberia’s Novak Djokovic from earning his eighth title in the Men’s Singles. Meanwhile, Czech Republic’s Markéta Vondroušová marked a resounding victory against Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur. 

Aside from the championship setting a record-breaking number of attendees this year, numerous celebrities and Royals were also spotted among the spectators occupying the jam-packed bleachers at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club. It’s safe to say that the prestigious tournament had a star-studded audience in its midst. 

Here is a list of the celebrities who were present at the tournament:

1. Brad Pitt and Guy Ritchie

Brad Pitt was one of the many stars in attendance at the Men’s Singles Finals. Alongside film director Guy Ritchie, the ‘Bullet Train’ star was seen enjoying the thrilling five-set match between Alcaraz and Djokovic.

James Bond actor Daniel Craig was seated with his actress wife Rachel Weisz at the Royal Box for the Men’s Singles Finals.

3. King Felipe IV

Spain’s King Felipe IV flew in to support Alcaraz in his final bout against Djokovic. He was accompanied by Miquel Iceta, the country’s Minister for Culture and Sports. 

4. Andrew Garfield, Ariana Grande, and Jonathan Bailey

‘Tick, Tick… Boom!’ lead Andrew Garfield came to watch the Men’s Singles final match unfold. Garfield was seated beside ‘Wicked’ stars Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey.

5. Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton

Seated in front of the trio was the couple Zawe Ashton and Tom Hiddleston, who had welcomed their first child together in October 2022. 

6. Kim Woo Bin and Krystal Jung

Korean actor Kim Woo Bin and singer-actress Krystal Jung were seated behind Garfield, Grande, and Bailey at the Men’s Singles Finals. But before that, they were pictured with Ralph Lauren’s Chief Branding and Innovation Officer David Lauren with his wife Lauren Bush at the Ralph Lauren suite. 

7. Idris Elba

Actor Idris Elba was all smiles while Alcaraz and Djokovic went head to head for the Wimbledon 2023 title. 

8. Sir Ian McKellen

Esteemed British actor Sir Ian McKellen was spotted entering the Wimbledon venue for the finals.

9. Emma Watson

It was a clear adrenaline rush for British actress Emma Watson as she sat through the riveting match between Alcaraz and Djokovic with her younger brother Alex. Prior to this, she was also spotted posing for a picture with ‘Doctor Who’ actor Ncuti Gatwa and British rapper Stormzy at the Evian VIP Suite.

10. Princess Charlotte and Prince George

The young royal duo of Princess Charlotte and Prince George did not hold back from letting out loud cheers when Alcaraz officially stripped Djokovic of his Wimbledon title.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the court, Nick Jonas and his wife Priyanka Chopra were present at the Women’s Singles Finals, where Vondroušová and Jabeur competed for the Championship title.

12. Lewis Capaldi

British singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi attended the Women’s Singles Final with Watson. This marks one of Capaldi’s first public appearances since running into some vocal issues at his Glastonbury concert in late June. 

13. Kate Middleton

After Vondroušová demolished Jabeur in straight sets—officially handing the former the 2023 Wimbledon title—the Princess of Wales was seen comforting the Tunisian stalwart.
