The “merc with a mouth” makes his way into the MCU in the R-rated franchise’s third entry
The first official teaser for “Deadpool & Wolverine” was just released, and when else to do so than on the day of the world’s biggest sporting event—the Super Bowl.
The R-rated franchise’s third entry features Wade Wilson, played by Ryan Reynolds, as he ventures into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Exact plot details remain obscured but the film will likely have the “merc with a mouth” enlisted to save the multiverse with the help of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. However, as all unlikely team-ups go, and as seen in the teaser, the pair will have a bit of a scuffle before officially joining forces.
In contrast with his appearances in the Century Fox “X-Men” films, the upcoming film will also likely feature a more humorous Wolverine, in line with the overall tone of the MCU—given the fact that it is, after all, a Deadpool title.
Joining Reynolds and Jackman, “Deadpool & Wolverine” also stars Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapičić, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Rob Delaney, Aaron Stanford, Matthew Macfadyen, and Emma Corrin. The film is directed by Shawn Levy.
In a rare serious post by Deadpool himself, Reynolds (barring the image choice), took to Instagram to reminisce on the filming for “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
He shared, “The suit hides blood. Also sweat… But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it’s mostly tears. A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes and @thehughjackman… all under the stalwart leadership of @slevydirect”
Reynolds adds, “I got to make a movie with my closest pals and that doesn’t happen very often. See ya July 26th… ⚔️🥺⚔️”
