Whenever and wherever I meet people, I am frequently asked questions on health and beauty. In the course of our conversations, I have observed the absence of a wellness lifestyle in most people. The bottom line is this: You are in charge of your life. So, take over. Here are the answers to your wellness questions.
Q: My acid reflux is a recurring nightmare. No matter what I take, it returns.
Acid reflux is a disease of the modern age. In earlier times, it was probably nonexistent. Of course, once in a while it’s normal to have a little heart burn or indigestion. This occurs when you overindulge in alcohol or rich food, or when you have overeaten. This, however, should go away in a few hours.
Acid reflux, as complementary medicine experts explain it, is simply the lack of natural stomach acids to digest your food. The reason you feel discomfort is not because your stomach is acidic. It simply lacks the acids required for proper digestion. Try not to take your antacids. They will reduce more of your stomach acids, if not all of it.
The solution is simple. Take 1 tbsp of raw apple cider vinegar before meals, and your acid level will be normalized. You will feel results soon enough. If you find it too strong, you can mix it in a cup of lukewarm water with ¼ tsp of raw wild honey. For now, begin with one fresh raw apple. See your physician if your problems persist.
Q: Every so often I am plagued with a yeast infection. Can you recommend a natural remedy?
This is the bane of woman’s existence. Let me ask you a few questions. Have you been eating a lot of sweet and sugary food lately? Note: This includes wines, because they can raise your blood sugar. Also, all wines contain yeast! Are you in the habit of wearing tight jeans? And did you take any antibiotic recently?
The reason why I ask is because these are lifestyle questions. If you can correct or adjust these triggers, then you will have less yeast problems.
For now, do this cleanse.
Take two capsules of good bacteria or acidophilous during meal time, thrice daily.
Drink 12-15 glasses of water during the day.
Eat more raw vegetables and fruits daily to raise your live enzyme levels.
It is important for you to know that the living enzymes carry the life of the food you eat. And the more “alive” your food is, the better your cells are nourished. This means that living off canned and processed foods all the time is not going to give the adequate nutrients your body needs in order to be healthy. The manufacturing process used in canned foods involves irradiation and possibly pasteurizing.
Q: Constipation is my perennial problem. Help!
Be astonished to know that we are to move our bowels two to three times a day! Did you read this correctly? Read it again. The human body is designed that way. Constipation isn’t a simple problem because it is the cause of many others—allergies, insomnia, arthritis, obesity, gas, depression, heart disease, acid reflux, bad breath, and body odor, poor metabolism, weight gain, bad hair, skin and nails—the list goes on.
Is there a simple way to cure this? Yes. If you will pay attention.
If you do not move your bowel regularly, the discarded food in your colon will turn rancid and toxic and begins to put three very bad toxins into the bloodstream. Excess gas will overload your kidneys and liver. And this creates the breathing ground for candida yeast and parasites.
