Here’s a premise: What if Studio Ghibli films were set on campus at the University of the Philippines Diliman?
Apparently, in someone’s lens, Totoro would be happy strolling around the Sunken Garden. A young photographer named Angelique Leyson reimagined these scenes on Facebook, and have garnered the approval of fellow Ghibli stans since. (NGL, these could pass as spin-off posters at first glance.)
In this gallery, you can peep Seiji and Shizuku of “Whisper of the Heart” biking around the Academic Oval; Sosuke and Ponyo of “Ponyo” hanging out at the UP Lagoon, and ride-or-die duo Chihiro and Haku of “Spirited Away” passing by UP Carillion.

According to Angelique, she was inspired to make the photoset after seeing photographer Sherwin Versoza’s debut shoot for Gwyneth Mendevil—which was an absolutely close duplicate of the magical cinematic universe.
“What came to my mind first was UP, and I have a lot of photos inside the campus. I like to edit images so I tried placing Ghibli characters (on) different spots in UP Diliman. The result was awesome. Then I decided to share it with Studio Ghibli fans,” Angelique said of her reaction to Versoza’s shoot.
S/O to Hayao Miyazaki, we hope you see these.
