Song Hye-kyo’s new character takes revenge on high school bullies in this dark K-drama - SCOUT

OCTOBER 27, 2022

It seems like Song Hye-kyo’s new character abides by one mantra: “There will be no mercy, so there will be no glory either.”

On Dec. 1, Netflix Korea dropped its teaser and official release date for the upcoming dark K-drama entitled “The Glory.” Sitting under the embroidered tree is Moon Dong-eun (played by “Descendants of the Sun” star Song Hye-kyo). Tackling school violence, the tale highlights Dong-eun’s unfortunate past as a victim of horrifying bullying. Taking her chance to get revenge, she took the job as the homeroom teacher of her bully’s child.

The eight-episode series also stars Ji-yeon Lim, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon, Jung Sung-Il, and “Sweet Home” lead Lee Do-hyun.

Just so you know, the upcoming drama is written by Kim Eun Sook, the writer behind the hit K-dramas “Goblin,” “Descendants of the Sun,” “Heirs,” and “Secret Garden,” and directed by Ahn Gil Ho, the creator of “Happiness,” “Forest of Secrets” (“The Stranger”), “Memories of the Alhambra,” and “Record of Youth.”

How will this show present the concept of revenge? How will it tackle the multilayered issue of bullying? We’ll have to wait until the premiere of “The Glory” on Dec. 30.
