Eternity-like January is almost over, and what better way to end it (other than posting that Instagram Story dump) than revisiting those 2023 goals? If one of them is amping up your skill set, we’re clueing you in on where to earn those extra knowledge points.
On Jan. 19, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) posted 23 short courses—and five additional multimedia production courses—available for sign-ups. Don’t worry about purging your wallet, because aside from them being free, they’ll also be held virtually and can be taken at your own pace.
The university’s 2023 Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) calendar, plotted from February to December, hopes to serve your “personal and educational goals.” If you’re leaning towards the arts, you can take courses on graphic design, basic animation, and video editing. In the list, there’s also a gender sensitivity training and one on scriptwriting. Other courses explore psychology, teaching, and business, among others. The best part? You can have a solid proof of your accomplishment as e-certificates will be handed at the end of each session—plus, the experience can be added to your resume as a 16-hour training.
To sign up, create an account on UPOU’s Massive Open Distance eLearning (MODeL) official website, wait for a confirmation, browse through the course collection, and enroll. For more info, you can shoot a message at [email protected]. Now, that’s one step towards our (very brave) attempt to be better with our goals this year.
