Farley del Rosario’s sense of humor and wonder once again take center stage in “Impostor in Poster, Martian Rule, and Monsters,” now running at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Gallery.

Curated by Mimi Santos, the exhibit expresses Farley’s admiration for revered artists as he presents playful versions of their works—pieces so popular that they have been honored time and again through replication or partial alteration.  The tribute artworks show Del Rosario’s distinct yet familiar round-eyed urchins, with curled lines as arms and legs, taking the place of the original subjects.

His stamp of circular patterns here has evolved into round pompom-like whimsical accents and are joined by brightly colored, almost alien receptacles and candy-like outcroppings.

The NCCA Gallery is at the G/F,  NCCA Bldg., 633 Gen. Luna St., Intramuros, Manila (near San Agustin Church). Viewing hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
