Citing a study conducted in the United Kingdom that showed that young, jobless people were twice as likely to smoke as those who were employed, a Quezon City-based health advocacy group called on Congress Thursday to enact a law requiring graphic warnings on cigarette packs sold locally.
They come in brightly colored, shiny packages in fun flavors like chocolate, blueberry, gummy bear, wine and pink berry. But the American Cancer Society says the little cigars and packages of loose tobacco are aimed at kids and are just as deadly as cigarettes.
Forgot to buy your cigarette or did you suddenly run out of a stick to light? Think twice before asking somebody to hand you one. More likely, fellow smokers would tell you they have run out of sticks, too.
