French luxury cosmetics maker Lancôme had two big announcements this week: First, its award-winning “youth activator” serum Genifique will roll out an advanced formula on May 3. And on June 15, Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz will kit out the brand’s best-selling Hypnose line with his familiar quirky sketches.
Lancome’s long-awaited collaboration with Alber Elbaz finally debuted in Manila last June. This is the first-ever makeup collaboration of Elbaz, the creative director of Lanvin, and he chose to “clothe” the makeup instead of creating a new palette, as is often done in other such projects.
It takes seven to eight premium products, and several indulgent minutes of fanciful spa-like strokes, to apply the results of 20 years of research for that coveted golden-glow complexion. On top of that, the foundation must be applied with its own specific movements.
