Thump your way to better energy | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Total harmony can be maintained by ensuring overall balanced energies. But how does one begin? Take one step at a time, and your energy levels can be restored and recharged.

1. Establish positive energy habits by adopting a mindset that does not dwell on the negative. Example: If you start your day with a frown on your face, this is clearly a negative habit. By doing so, you set off a pattern that can poison your thoughts. Why not rise each morning with a smile? This is an excellent start.

2. Breathe easy. Stressful situations have one effect on the psyche: to put it on crisis mode. And when this occurs, the mind tends to panic. So, learn to control your state of mind and not to press the panic button. Breathe slowly. By slowing down your breathing, you keep your heart from racing.

Inhale slowly with your eyes closed. Inhale six counts, hold your breath two counts, and  exhale six counts. Or for the more advanced, 8-5-8–eight inhale, five hold, eight exhale.

Immediate effect: your mind will be calmer, and your body overcome by a feeling of lightness.

3. Eat and drink “live” foods and beverages. The less processed the food, the more natural life it contains. Thus, if you can source your food fresh from the farm, then all the better for your health. Try planting vegetables in your own backyard. This ought to provide you with enzyme-rich food. Within three or four weeks of eating fresh products, you may notice visible weight loss from 3 to 6 lbs, brighter complexion, and increased body energy.

4. Dance to the music of life. By dance, it’s movement of any kind—whatever you may fancy. Choose walking, running, biking, swimming—but do this regularly and sustain it for 30-45 minutes.

5. Sleep the sleep of angels. Sometimes it’s not the length of hours, but the quality of your sleep. People who power nap are able to catch up on their much-needed rest. So try to take a snooze that is restful and not restive.

6. No judgement. Today and every day, adopt an attitude of no judgement on anyone or anything. Neither should you become judge and jury on any situation in your life. Take a central position.

7. Nothing personal. Do not take anything personally, no matter what challenges confront you. By not taking anything to heart, nothing can affect your heart, which is the seat and target of all emotions. Know that your heart is connected to the mind. And by taking things impersonally and objectively, you will not expend unnecessary energy on inconsequential matters.

The art of thumping

There are key points  on your body which, when tapped with the fingers, will send electrochemical impulses to your brain, thereby releasing neurotransmittals. This will impact the energy field within you in very predictable ways.

If you tap three specific points, a sequence of responses will be set off that will instantly restore you. This is almost like an emergency procedure clearly designed to revive you.

Thump no. 1–called the K-27 points (27th acupressure points on the left and right side of the kidney meridian)

Place the index/pointer finger of each hand on your collarbone and move hands closer to each other until you reach the 2 inside corners of your collarbone. Go straight down from there until an inch below the collarbone. Find the soft spot or indentation there. Breathe slowly and you firmly tap or massage these points.

Thump no. 2–called the Taizan thump designed to energize the thymus gland.

Note: This is effective if you are catching a cold or fighting an infection.

Place the fingers of both hands two inches below the K27 points in the center of your chest.

Using thumb and all your fingers, tap firmly, breathe slowly through the nose, and out to the mouth. Take three breaths. Let out a Taizan shout if it makes you feel better.

Thump no. 3–The spleen meridian is a fast way to lift your energy level and balance your blood sugar levels. This is located below the breast area along the same line as the nipples, down one rib.

Press down firmly for 15 seconds. A quick lift is the acupuncture reflex points located four  inches beneath the armpits. If either point is tender, then it is a sign that your energy level is down. Keep massaging or tapping. Take three breaths and you will feel better. If you yawn soon afterwards, then the technique is working. Your body is taking in more oxygen. And this is a good thing.

The good veggie

Have a vegetable a day. Even if you’re not into vegetables, try to slowly introduce some into your diet. If you have problems digesting dairy products but need your calcium, try 3 ½ oz of cooked broccoli. This will give you 205 mg of calcium. Truth is, its calcium supply is more than any other vegetable.

Today’s affirmation: “I dance to the rhythm of life!”
