Is the Philippines going to host the Miss Universe pageant again next year?

There is a possibility, says businessman-politician Luis “Chavit” Singson, one of the pageant sponsors in Manila who shelled out at least $12 million to secure the Philippines’ hosting.

But for Singson, it would be better if others would be given the chance to host the international beauty tilt. In any case, the president of the LCS Group of Companies said he would be willing to give his support should the pageant be held again in the country.

“Sana ibigay natin sa iba, pero if ever, tutulong ako. All-out support ako. Yes, may possibility. In other countries nako-confine lang sila (candidates),” Singson said during the Meet Inquirer Multimedia forum on Wednesday.

(I hope others will be given a chance. But if ever we host it again, I will help. I will give my all-out support. Yes, there’s a possibility. In other countries, the candidates were just confined.)

Prior to the coronation event last Jan. 31, the Miss Universe candidates toured different parts of the Philippines like Baguio, Vigan, Cebu, Davao, and Boracay for various prepageant activities. IDL
