Pia Wurtzbach transformed from an idolized beauty icon to a dreamy fangirl upon meeting critically acclaimed author Lang Leav during the latter’s book-signing event in Manila on Sunday.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Wurtzbach expressed her happiness in meeting Leav during the event. “You guys have no idea how happy I was to finally meet Lang Leav last night. I’m a big fan of her work. Her books kept me company during my time in NYC. I remember always trying to pre-order everything I could,” she captioned her snap.
Wurtzbach added, “Thank you, Lang for being so nice and sharing some advice and words of wisdom. I wish you more success and I hope you touch the lives of many other readers like me.”

Moreover, the German-Filipina beauty queen notched a chance to speak to Lang’s partner, Michael Faudet, over the phone. Just like Leav, Faudet is one of Wurtzbach’s favorite novelists.
Leav, in an Instagram post, thanked Wurtzbach for adoring her literary works: “So lovely to catch up with the beautiful Pia Wurtzbach last night. It was a wonderful evening. Such a beautiful soul. Hope to see you soon in New Zealand.”
Lang, who is based in New Zealand, was in the country to promote her latest novel, “Sad Girls.” She is noted for her poetry masterpieces “Lullabies,” “Love and Misadventures” and “The Universe of Us.”
At the height of the Alden Richards-Maine Mendoza love-team mania last year, Leav composed a poem titled “Stars in Love,” which she dedicated to the tandem. Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
