Japan has been known to produce a wide variety of Kit Kat flavors, and now, Nestle Japan will be releasing a new one yet again to commemorate the re-opening of their Chocolatory store and cafe in upmarket Ginza, Tokyo on July 25.
The new flavor is called Kit Kat Chocolatory Gateau Mignon and will be exclusively sold at the Ginza Chocolatory branch, as reported by SoraNews24. The Gateau Mignon features a soft, chewy piece of gateau chocolate cake in its top layer.
Chocolatory store chain overseer and patissier Yasumasa Takagi spent over a year formulating the new Kit Kat flavor. Takagi is also known for creating a lot of what are considered as innovative Kit Kat flavors, such as the Sublime brand, Orange Cocktail Noir and Sakura Green Tea.
Kit Kat Chocolatory stores are known for their high-end chocolate offerings. As part of the commemoration effort, the re-opened Ginza branch will also be presenting an exclusive menu with tempting items to customers.
First up is the Below Freezing Chocolatory. It features several Moleson Kit Kat bars and a matcha topped ice-cream-filled monaka wafer bar, placed in a glass cup while being cooled to sub-zero temperatures by a bowl filled with dry ice.
Next on the menu is the Kit Kat Chocolatory Parfait. It features a special chocolate fondant, topped with bits of fresh fruit, three different scoops of ice-cream, and three different fruity flavored Kit Kat bars.
The last item on the list of exclusives is both product and service. Kit Kat Chocolatory Sublime Original Message service allows customers to craft personalized messages on three bars of Sublime branded Kit Kat bars. These marble-like, message engraved chocolate bars are then wrapped in sophisticated packaging and can be given away as a present.
In line with its exclusivity, the Kit Kat Chocolatory Gateau Mignon will be sold in boxes of threes and will be priced at 2,916 yen each (roughly P1,300).
As a bonus, the first 85 customers of the day will get a piece of the gateau chocolate cake used to stuff the Gateu Mignon with their purchase. This promo will run between July 25 to 31. The gateau chocolate cake will not be sold separately afterwards.
If you happen to be in the area during those days, why not drop by and have a taste of some gourmet chocolate? Alfred Bayle/JB
