Momoland’s popularity in the country came as a surprise for them, too. They revealed this during the press conference held today, Dec. 10, at Novotel.  They are the only other KPop group to return in the country twice this year. The other one is boy group EXO.

Host Kendra asked why they think they connect so well with Filipino Merries (name of their fandom).

“We are also very curious about this question.  We want to know why Momoland is so famous in the Philippines.  I think it is because of the music.  Our music is so fun.  We hope we could offer you with more exciting music next year,” said member Hyebin.

The group just held a free concert in Vigan yesterday. Maknae (youngest) member Nancy also said that a parade was also held for them while they were there.

“We had a great time.  We actually learned a lot about the culture of Vigan.  They welcomed us so warmly,” said Nancy.

Momoland has nine members under MLD Entertainment.  It is composed of Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Taeha, Nayun, Daisy, JooE, Ahin and Nancy. Their single “Bboom Bboom” became a viral hit among Filipinos.  It became a staple in every event including Christmas parties.

Local celebrities, personalities and vloggers perform the song.  There are so many  renditions to the song and it has been performed in every situation including flood water.

The group soon followed it with another hit song “Baam”.   It became an instant hit especially since Nancy caught the attention of local fans when she carried the Philippine flag in their  music video.  The group promise to bring more songs next year.

“We are really grateful for the unexpected love and support for our songs ‘Bboom Bboom’ and ‘Baam’.  To make up for it, we promise to work even harder and to return with better music that we can enjoy together,” said Daisy.

The group is set to return on Jan. 25 next year for their first fanmeeting in the country.  The fanmeet is organized by DnM Entertainment and YT E&M.  There will be a pre-selling event on Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Ali Mall Activity Area.  It will be made available the following day at all Tickenet outlets and Ticketnet Online.
